BIANCONI WINTER LEAGUE
The League, yet again very kindly sponsored by Rick and Ray Sheehy, shall start on the weekend of the 19th/20th February and some changes to the usual Format have been made. This year there shall be 6 in every Team. Members can make up their own teams [and these should be put up on the Notice Board] or they can put their names in the Competition Box and the Committee will make up teams. All Teams and/or names must be in by 5 pm on Thursday the 17th February. Each Team must contain at least one member with a handicap of 18 or over.
The schedule for the Competition is as follows;
ROUND 1 - 19th/20th February - Singles Stableford with the best 4 scores to count.
ROUND 2 -5th/6th March – Fourball betterball Stableford -2 best scores to count.
[ Timesheet will be in operation for Sunday morning the 6th March]
ROUND 3 -12th/13th March – Singles Stableford with the best 4 scores to count.
SEMI-FINALS -27TH March - top 4 teams qualify for the Main Competition playoff with the next 4 teams qualifying for the Plate. In the event of ties the 5th [and 6th scores if necessary] of Round 3 shall apply. Format- Singles Matchplay with each team being entitled to decide their own order of play.
FINALS-3rd April -Final for top four places in the Main Competition together with the final of the Plate . Format- Singles Match play.
Entry fee for the Competition is €15 which must be paid by Swipe BEFORE commencement of play in the first round. Failure to make the payment in advance shall result in the score of the individual not counting for his Team. A couple of other changes to the usual format shall be announced in advance of the Semi-finals,
The Committee is very anxious that as many Members as possible take part in this years competition so please make up your teams or put your names in the Box as soon as possible.
