The leading qualifier in the girls section is Mairead Martin aged 13 from Killarney; she had a fantastic best score of the day with an 83 gross.

The leading qualifier in the women’s section is Eimear O’Donnell also from Killarney with a great score of 84 gross.

Course Closed

Dooks Golf Course will be closed to all members from the 25th to the 29th of March [inclusive] due to the ILGU Munster Championships.

Course Committee Request

Course Preparation 2013 

The Course staff and Course Committee are attempting to tidy and prepare the course and its environs for the 2013 season.

A substantial amount of work has already been achieved in clearing rough, treating greens and fairways and repairing bunkers etc.

Similarly, the gardens and car park areas have been cut and tidied and the front of the clubhouse power hosed and cleaned.

Members may have noticed that we have also started to paint up the railway sleepers around the practice green and clubhouse. This has largely been achieved with volunteer help.

The plan now is to complete the repainting of all the sleepers and there are still a lot to do. We would like to complete those behind the practice green and on the track up to the first Tee. Additionally those coming down the track back to the Clubhouse from the eighteenth. There are others here and there on the course that also require attention.

The aim is to achieve all this before we host the Munster Ladies during the last week of March and this will only be possible with Members Volunteering to help whenever possible.

If you are able to spare an hour or two or better still, a day or two to help achieve our aim, please contact Tom Pickersgill directly on 08790 11545 .Arrangements will be made to make all equipment and supplies available to you for your session.
